Australian Ebay Trial - Mandatory Use of PayPal

In Australia, EBay is planning to trial an arrangement where payment will only be able to be made using PayPal. If it works here, it will probably be extended.

The question of whether this will breach Australian laws regarding restrictive trade practices was discussed on today's Law Report. You can listen to it online, download it, or get the transcript at:

.....eBay will not be allowed to do it.

If that ever takes place here in the US, I'm done with eBay. Pretty much done with them now.

My eBay days seem to be rapidly passing now, I rarely go on there. I would certainly stop selling anything on there for good if they made this resolution go through as I refuse to use Paypal and pay the extortionate commission, particularly as eBay are getting that and the sellers fees.
