"Rock Candy" by Gatton or MacDuff
Does anybody else play "Rock Candy" at their gigs? I've been afraid of it forever becasue Danny plays it so fast, but I figured it out today and it is really simple. You can use any number of scales over these changes (Melody stays the same with the foundational harmony shifts). This is a fun jam tune, good for set breaks!
Here's Brother Jack's version:

It's jazz, and I'm not interested in copying Danny's version or anyone else's. I just learned it today, and was surprised that it wasn't more complicated. It will probably take me about 6 months of goofing with it to find my own voice in it. I'm not a heavyweight and never will be - but I do have fun.
