Tru-oil finish pics please!
Hi Gang, I've got an idea for a Jazzmaster build with a swamp ash body and a tru-oil finish, but I'd like to see some guitars finished in tru-oil. If anybody has any guitars they've finished with tru-oil please post them here. Thanks.

good on you. I will look forward to seeing what you do.
To add $.02, Brownell's has several choices for oils, which are used more on guns and furniture than guitars. Tru Oil has its fans, but it's downside two, something you need to consider being in a humid state like Kentucky. It can take considerable time and elbow grease in the summer, and one may need a drying agent like Japan Dryer and a drying cabinet to help it along. Pilkington's Classic is a highly regarded oil and is considered easier to work, and between the two, I prefer to have my guns done with it over TO.

Is that all?
Those are some gorgeous guitars!
I have been struggling to chose a finish for my Pinecaster. The last one I built, I finished with bee's wax blended with boiled Linn seed oil to make the wax workable. I like the finish OK, But I thought I might get a bit more shine this time. I don't want a hard shell around the soft pine, like lacquer and such. Just something to protect and shine and leave the natural wood look.

Roman I have to say you and I share exactly the same tastes in what a beautiful guitar looks like. Any of your guitars you have ever posted always make me feel like hopping up and down like a lttle kid. Love 'em.

I looks like I'm off to the sporting goods store to look at what they have for Tru-Oil, and gun stock finishing supplies.
I read a good bit about applying a Tru-oil finish to a musical instrument and it seems pretty easy. http://www.lmii.com/CartTwo/TruOil.htm
