What Happened With The Van Halen Tour?

Last I heard it was going well with Wolfgang playing bass, but my wife said she heard Valerie yanked the bass player, cause Dad was screwing up again.

I just heard this, haven't looked around yet.

Eddie Van Halen is apparently "under a doctor's care" for some unspecified reason. There was a thread about it recently. They cancelled I don't know how many shows but told ticket holders to keep 'em for when they come back around.

They rescheduled the April 5 show in Grand Rapids, MI to sometime in June...so it sounds like it will eventually get back on track.

God bless him. I always hope for the best.

I don't know why I care, but I do. I guess it's because we're about the same age, did it our way, (although he made a few more bucks than I did) had some of the same issues, and when he's good he's praised, and when he's bad he's beat up.

Best of luck Eddie.

Valerie's bisexual?

I was just looking at the Van Halen News Desk site, and they claim the internet rumors of the tour being canceled are false. They don't mention the rumors, but I would guess they include all the stuff about Valerie yanking Wolfgang.

I saw her on Larry King...
this is true. She had an experience a few years ago.
Don't know about her sexual preference these days.

From what I heard (on the radio), it stemmed from Eddie's drinking and arguing with Wolfgang...that someone (Val, Al, or "DLR") might have suggested that Eddie go on substance abuse treatment again...

In regards to the Van Halen News Desk site, the tour was definitely postponed in Dallas (March 3) for an April 5 show! Nothing false about that!

I was worried that Eddie and Wolfgang were going to have issues, because Eddie pretty much has issues with everyone at some point, probably even Alex. There is some family therapist, or Dr. Phil, just waiting for them to blow up so they can cash in. I heard that Eddie sort of had a relapse or something. And before the tour started some friends and I were joking that Eddie would probably have a relapse because he would probably get jealous over all the groupies that swarm Wolfgangs teenage-arse as opposed to Eddies old wrinkly one...We may not have been far from the truth

VHND.com has links to her interviews on Oprah. Her "experience" seemed to have involved kissing another woman, but she doesn't even hint that she's bisexual. I think it's getting a little overblown.

And yes, there's something very hot about the thought of her kissing another woman.

When they cancelled Dallas, they waited until that day to turn away people. There was a guy that flew in from Sweden I think. He was REALLY dissappointed. He said that plane tickets, show tickets and hotel cost him $2000 - that he will never get back.

He said on the news camera, "Fortunately, Dallas is a nice place to visit." He got mugged later that night at the Kennedy memorial. JUST KIDDING!

A friend of mine has some pretty extensive connections into the music industry and the story he got, and it allegedly came from those who are part of the VH tour is that Eddie started drinking again, and Wolfie got upset...it boiled over at the Ft Lauderdale show where Eddie got into his kids face pretty hard and Alex stepped in to aid Wolfie, punches were thrown and Alex pulled the plug on the tour....This also explains why Alex has stated that he is leaving VH at the end of this tour....

A friend told me the band, including underage Wolfie and his Dad (who is supposed to be on the wagon), was partying at a gentlemen's club after a gig in NC. I'm sure that kind of behavior doesn't sit well with Mom.

Speaking of mother Valerie, according to a very recent Ladies Home Journal cover story (it's my wife's...I swear), Valerie is doing quite well romantically with "...live-in boyfriend of three years, financial adviser Tom Vitale."

I waited all these years to finally see Eddie with DLR (not a Hagar fan) and now I'm waiting again.
I hope Eddie gets well and I get a chance to see him play. He's such a talent but like so many great artists, a tortured soul.

I've read parts of Val's biography book about how she and Wolfie hated Eddie's alcohol abuse...

How sad. When I heard about the Dallas show being cancelled, I feared the worst. I still hold hope it's not a substance-abuse issue.

Addiction is a hell of its own, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Especially someone whose music I've so enjoyed for so long.

I hope this family gets back on track. My prayers are with them.

Help Wolfie!!! He looks like he's probably at least 6" taller than his dad and probably outweighs him by about 150 lbs! Are you sure that he was not protecting Ed?

I really do hope that Ed can get well for good though. He has been through treatment so many times that that I don't have much hope for him.

Yeah, the picture is "if it's on the internet it must be true!"

The NY Times article simply restated what the band officially announced. TMZ quoted "sources" as saying that Eddie fell off the wagon. The other articles simply referred to TMZ. "Sources" could be anyone, connected to the band or not. Heck, I could be a "source" to them. Not exactly the bastion of responsible journalism.

Makes a good read, though.
