I tried one for a few weeks but it was about 7 years ago. The main problem was the upper horn digging me in the ribs when I sat down playing. Other than that it was an OK guitar. Pickups weren't great, but that can be rectified.

I just decided that I preferred a telecaster, and back then I could only afford one guitar at a time.
So I traded it.

I bought it cuz it sounds real cool ...and it looks like
a guitar that mated with a Tele....not sure if his first name
was Fender or not though...looks like this.

Is that the one with the phenolic resin fingerboard?

My mistake. It's carbon and glass. Good score for $300! Don't forget the guitar show here on the 6th!!!

I've had one for many years and have always been happy with it. It's a nice alternative to Teles and the 'acoustic' sound can be quite handy when run through the PA.

I understand that because of this, the frets are glued on!

I can't remember since it was ages since I had one, but I think the P-38 has a regular rosewood fretboard. It's the more expensive Parker models that have the different materials in the neck and body.
I think...

I have the NightFly SA, same body different neck. I believe the P series is made in Korea, when I bought my NightFly it was still made here.
Guitar is ok for what it is. I have found the stereo out to be a bit finicky. Hard to find a decent stereo y cable. Pickups are ok, but not great. On the other hand, you can get some cool sounds mixing the piezo and the mag pickups. Particularly if you send the piezo to an acoustic amp and the magnetic to a guitar amp.
I actually like the body shape, not had the issue with poking in the ribs.
At $300, seems like you can't go wrong. If you hate it, you should be able to sell for what you bought it for.
