odd question. gluing a neck.
I bought a cheapy project guitar last week. There is a thread on it here: http://www.tdpri.com/forum/bad-dog-c...-surprise.html
I was curious if there is any benefit to gluing a bolt on neck joint? It's a cheap guitar so I am just playing around with it. Excuse my lack of tech knowledge on the matter. Thanks |

I don't think there's any advantage to gluing in a bolt-on neck. If the wood screws keep the neck from moving, then the glue isn't needed. If the neck shifts with the wood screws in place, then gluing isn't the right fix.
I think it's telling that most high-end acoustic makers are now bolting in the necks instead of using the traditional dovetail joint. |
