What do you call it?

Ok, I dont play a Kramer guitar, so I am at a loss as to what you call that little string retention bar system that is screwed down on the headstock (to put pressure on the strings across the nut).

Anyone know what they call it, and where I can get it?

I assume you're not talking about a string tree, which Fenders have.

You mean the nut bit? That's called a locking nut, as far as I know.

It's called (gasp!) a string retainer.

No, its a bar (not a locking nut) with a screw that anchors into the face of the headstock, and your strings go over the nut and then pass under the bar? I guess its a string tree?

String retainers - used with Floyd Rose trems.

Here's a few links to eBay UK if you can't find one nearer. One of them is US based and does black or silver.

*** Silly me ***

Just went on eBay.com - USA version - and searched under Guitar for String Retainer. There's loads of them. About $10 with p&p.

Cheers
