How It's Made: Banjos (new)

I was checking the TVguide website to see if there were any new Mythbusters on today. No such luck. But it listed a couple new How It's Made shows. First one's:

Quote:
New
Banjos; fire extinguishers; doughnuts; shock absorbers.
I find those shows disappointing if I know anything about a topic, but if I don't, they can be kind of cool. I'd rather see them do a whole show about a topic. I never timed it, but they're 1/2 hour shows, which means about 20 minutes, so with 4 topics, that's 5 minutes per topic.... which is kind of lame. And I don't really care about fire extinguishers, doughnuts, or shock absorbers.

But I suppose a lot more companies will go along with the idea when not much is revealed.

Don't banjos offset donuts? People usually aren't so hungry anymore after you say "banjo". Or was that accordion. I forget.

I've seen it before. you are right, it is very high-level. But that's offset by the variety of things covered - everything from coins to TP to tractors to tennis balls - so it keeps your interest. It's a Canadian show so I think the electric guitars segment shows the Godin factoire.

Thanks. Figured I'd check youtube since people have already seen it.

Looks like I can avoid fire extinguishers, doughnuts, or shock absorbers.

"How It's Made - Banjos" Filmed at First Quality Music
This segment from the Science Channel's "How It's Made" program was filmed in our very own banjo shop here in Louisville KY. Watch as a Sullivan banjo is built from top to bottom!

I had a tour of the factory where Gibson makes banjos, Dobros and Mandolins - very cool!

Where do they do that? It's not in the Nashville factory, is it?
