Pie...hot vs. cold
Wars have been fought over topics such as these. I feel it depends on whether you are topping said pie with ice cream. Hot would melt the ice cream there by making the pie soggy.............thoughts? And finally, which goes better with a Tele, pie or ice cream?

The secret is to have really high-quality hard ice cream, and the pie not so hot that you can't dive right in and start eating. And my vote goes for saskatoon berry pie with vanilla ice cream.

I'm a warm/hot apple pie with ice cream guy, but when I was working my way through school at a restaurant a common order would be apple pie, warm with a slab of cheddar melted on top. I think it's an English Canada thing as most of us here in Quebec find the idea gross.
Quebec = Maple Sugar Pie with or without nuts like Pecans or oatmeal, warmed. YUM!

- Cream pies should be cold.
- Custards and Chess pie should be room temp or cold. - Pecan pies can be any temp. - Fruit pies "can" be warm or room temp but the crust should be perfect, always. Just, fercryingoutloud, NEVER reheat them in a microwave and make the crust soggy! Blasphemy! - Cobblers are best hot and fresh but I've rarely seen one last longer than a day. If they do, somebody hand me a fork! - Now, quiche, well, ahem, not a big fan of quiche, but I guess you're supposed to eat it hot. - Pot pies must be hot. Chicken is my favorite pot pie. - Fried pies.... hmmm, I kinda prefer to pick them up and eat 'em, so room temp is the way to go.

Depends on the type of pie. If its a fruit pie...apple, peach, etc. hot out of the oven..mmmmmmmm. But re-heated...no thanks. I'd rather have it cold.
As for other pies, pumpkin, coconut cream, etc...no other way than straight out of the fridge. *BTW, I love cold fried chicken too....and cold leftover meatloaf, pizza and a lot of other things. But my favorite cold leftover? BBQ ribs. Oh yeah baby! |

-I'll take a hot slice of apple pie in a bowl of milk. Or with ice cream on it. But in a bowl of milk is how most of my family always fixed it and that's my first choice.
