Non Communicators On Ebay!!

Does this bother anyone else?? I ordered a guitar on Friday, paid immediately and still havent heard anything!!

Maybe its just me, but I always communicate as soon as possible just to get that person to person contact.....Just a personal gripe.....

I feel ya - I'm usually *very* prompt with communicating as a buyer, and I expect the same from sellers and reflect this in the feedback I leave. Missing the weekend is less than ideal on the seller part, but give him/her a couple more days... maybe there's a good reason, and if the response you get is apologetic in tone, no harm done IMO.

Hope this pans out good for ya!

Yes - that bugs the HELL out of me!!

I bought a $4,000.00 camera on eBay a few weeks ago and had to email the guy twice to get a response. Had me REALLY worried for a bit. I got the camera and it's fine though thank goodness!!

He still hasn't given me positive feedback either. Hmmmmmm.

Sure does.

I sold a Les paul last week on the bay. I contacted the buyer right away and had it shipped off the following morning. I'm not saying everyone can or should be like that...but at least a little "Hello, got your payment and the item should be shipped on.." update would be very greatly appreciated....and I don't count automated responses.

I'm with you - it drives me batty cos there's always this little voice at the back of my mind saying "I just gave my money to a stranger".

I bought a guitar last week and after 3 days they hadn't contacted me and the money hadn't been claimed from Paypal despite my emailing them twice to ask if there was a problem. It worked out OK in the end but my worry was that the guitar was so cheap I practically stole it* and I thought that they were going to back out of the deal.

* It was a 6 month old Squier Strat with a fender case & Levy strap. It was sold as "Giutar" - that spelling - and was listed with the hi-fi equipment. Cost me £45 ($90) which would just about pay for the case and strap over here.

As long as it works out in the end...I just hate getting to "the end" sometimes...

Yep, it bugs me, but I try to remember that sometimes folks don't spend as much time near their computers as I do! I recently sold some stuff that ended on a Saturday, but couldn't get online to deal with it until Sunday as I was away from home.

Three days is definitely pushing it, though...

I hate non-communicating sellers, but whats even worse is when after you pay them, they don't respond to your emails after purchase. Thats even worse to me, because if you give someone money, you expect them to at least pay you back with respect and common courtesy...

I've got a couple of eBay shops marked as favourites and they'll keep getting my business because they put customer service high on their list of priorities. That's more than I can say for most High St shops these days.

It usually the private sellers that bug me. Some are very easy to deal with and a couple have been exceptional but with some it's like pulling teeth just to get a response.
