There is certainly something to be said for the teenage symphonies/morality tales/"wall of sound" of the era. "Leader of the Pack," "Be My Baby," "I Can Never Go Home Anymore," "Remember (Walking in the Sand)," "Dedicated to the One I Love," "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "Mama Said," and "Baby, It's You"--all good tunes.

The Shirelles, the Ronettes, the Shangri-La's, Jeff Barry, Carole King, Leiber and Stoller; Phil Spector.

Tom Petty seems to include at least one of these per week on his "Buried Treasure" show on XM Radio. Who will it be tomorrow?

I loved the Bangles, they had a good sound and the front girl was prime. Walk Like An Egyptian I think was their big hit. Tom Petty used them on one of his solo albums I just read in his biography.

Isn't Jean Millington married to Earl Slick?
Or is it June?

THe Bangles were always pretty good, and I liked the Go Go's, too. Very 80s, but still a fun sound.

My mama told me ...

that there's a distinction between Girl Groups, on the one hand, and Groups, all of whose members are female, on the other. Get the picture? (yes, we see)

Remember? I had at least three Fanny albums on vinyl (I'm sure they're still around somewhere).

They were competant players, and at least June Millington (guitar) and Nicky Barclay (Keyboards) played on some Barbara Streisand album.

June Millingtons solo on their version of "Badge" was as good as Claptons I think...

I'm a big fan of the band Rockb1tch.

I'd post a photo, but I can't find one where they are wearing enough clothing to be compliant with forum rules.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockb1tch has info and google is your friend.

Warning: might be offenseive to 99.768% of people out there.
