Which Case?
Ok, so I think I need a hardshell case for my CP50s Stratocaster. Which case do you all recommend? Does anyone have any good, bad, or indifferent experience with any of the cases below? Anything out there I should be looking at instead of these?
I'm not looking to tour or do lots of gigs with any of these, but instead looking to have something that will offer more protection than a gig bag. There's the Then there's the Or maybe the And then the last one on the list, the |

Look at the way the latches work. If they look strong the case should work fine.
I like the G&G tweed mosrly for its looks.

Well I ended up getting the new Fender ABS. It looks a lot like the SKB ABS case. Apparently the GC in Atlanta doesn't stock the Tweed or Tolex Fender cases. They had this ABS that someone didn't want when buying a new Strat. They had a Tweed, but the manager wouldn't let me buy it (and it had some small rips, etc. in it anyway).
There's not a whole lot of extra storage space in the new ABS Strat case. The latches match and click tightly. They seem beefy. The guitar fits very snugly--no side to side movement and has support for the entire neck. Not bad for $100 considering the SKB is $120. |
