If you mean a chambered tele body, the answer is yes:
![]() ![]() It's a Rice Custom Guitar... I mean it will be my guitar :-) I remember that they also talk about P/W on thinlines, you should ask them. Cheers |

Cool guitar.
I'd probably want the top portion to be chambered as well. I just built a chambered bass and am digging the light weight. My main concern is whether or not a chambered body in addition to the cutout for the bender would be sturdy enough... Tele, of course. |

Parsons Green with the unit all one piece fits perfectly in a Thinline body...

I think the PW could be done in a semihollow, and have thought about doing one like that for some time. It would be strong enough, but would be easier to design and build the body with that end result in mind than it would be to hack up a premade body. Personally, I don't see much of an advantage tonally. Otherwise, I'd have already built one. The PG bender is an easier mod, but I don't care for that system- I much prefer the PW system.

Bill Bores has installed a PW style on a thinline at least once...perhaps more. I had links to his build pix but can't find them right now. There's some extra wood filling that he glued in place to reinforce some sections of the hollowed out body for the bender install..
I prefer the PW as well...but with some tinkering and fine adjustments the PG plays great... I have the one above modded with Gene Parsons Parsons-Green Long Throw clevis. Plus...the one above is made from aluminum so it weighs about 1/3 the weight of a normal PG bender. That thinlibe with bender is the lightest Tele I have...no more than 7 lbs. |

The only reason I'm even considering it is a possible weight savings and on further review it doesn't seem like there's that much to be saved.
If I was starting from scratch I'd definitely go chambered considering how much I love the way my recent bass turned out. |

That's why I'm a bit reluctant to mess with it even though as I get older I get lazier as far as holding heavy guitars.
I just weighed Froggy and it's right around 8 Lbs so I'll stop complaining. The Sparkle Strat I just finished a while ago is 9.5 so it might be a better candidate for a chambered body. My new bass ![]() is only 8 because of the chambering. It's slightly neck-heavy but balances fine and is easy on the back and shoulders. |

Fender released a Fred Stuart created NAMM thinline tele with a P/W bender in it.. I knew someone who owned it.. I was disappointed when he sold it and I couldn't buy it..
