Help with Hipshot on Asat?
I'm sure this has been covered....sorry about that..
I sold my glaser bender several years ago and now I'm anxious to try a Hipshot. I have two older Asats, both the original style with the saddle lock type bridge. I was wondering if someone here could tell me what diameter hole I need to drill in the bridge to run the B string through? Also, if I get the E toggle, would I drill the same diameter for that too? Thanks in advance! |

Hipshot recommends a 7/64" hole
That's what Hipshot recommends for the B string. The low E kinda depends on how thick your E string is.

I used a 2.5mm bit for all the "bender strings" (B,G and E), which is spot-on for the teflon tubing supplied with my Hipshot. I use 0.010-0.046 strings...
7/64" = 2.77mm

Thanks very much fellows!
Will, my son works at Roadworthy Guitar & Amp in Bloomington, IN...you put on a seminar there last year (I had to be out of town, wouldn't you know...). He really enjoyed meeting you and let me know, in no uncertain terms, that I really missed something! Next time, I'm gonna make it! |
