P.S. - It's my first time tabbing something out in this kind of detail - would appreciate any feedback if something doesn't look right or seems unclear.

Hoping to keep more active with my site this year and post little licks and gear-related blog items.

Thanks! Although most of the credit should go to the Amazing Slow Downer!

If you ever get a chance, check out the studio version of this song on Dr. Byrds and Mr. Hyde and use your Balance control to pan hard to the right...it isolates Clarence's cool licks on this track.

It's always fun to experiment with the Balance control on stereo tracks. Depending upon the mix it's sometimes like listening to a completely new version. I do this alot with Clarence tracks....immediately coming to mind are the Live 69 Fillmore cd, and the 2 cd set re-release of Sweetheart of the Rodeo...you can really zero in on what CW was playing...he was in a whole level of playing all to himself. Whats even more mind boggling sometimes is to listen to his flatpicking bluegrass with the Kentucky Colonels... It's just as impressive if not more so than any of his electric playing...

Thanks! You can subscribe to the RSS feeds for either the 'Gear' or 'Licks' blog (or both)...and if you have any suggestions of things you'd like to see, feel free to email me through the site.

Thanks cacibi. This is some great homework material. The audio track is vital for those of us who have not heard the original.

Thanks! Sorry about the hum on the example. My new Champion 600 definitely needs some mod work. I love the base tone, but it's seriously noisy, even in the hum-canceling positions on my tele.

I finally had the chance to sit down with this. Actually I had to stand to use the bender.

Excellent job, cacibi on the tab and the playing. One thing that might help, if it's not asking too much: a WAV or mp3 would be very helpful to use with a slow down program.

If you have Quicktime installed, and are using the Quicktime plug-in to listen to the audio, you should be given the option to 'Save As Source' from the drop-down menu (triangle) at the bottom right of the tab window. It will then save as an MP3 to your drive - which you can open in ASD.
