if it's the hipshot bender then it's the one that sits behind the bridge. In that case, install the bender like it says in the instructions, if you have a six saddle bridge, then graphite saddles will work best, if you have a 3 saddle barrell bridge, then use steel saddles instead of brass, because brass is too soft and the string will cut through the brass coating eventually causing the string to get bound up in the saddle. Make sure you use the teflon tubing they send you. And just in case you get some sticks or tuning issues, remember the pencil lead trick in the nut and you can spray some lithium grease in the saddle and bridge. that should take care of everything, and good luck with it.
p.s. Listen to some Will Ray from the Hellecasters, and check out how he works the hip-bender. |

for that one you will need to do or have some serious routing done to the back of your guitar...i think the other reply you got thought you had ordered the external add-on unit, which would have been far cheaper and easily self-installed...unless you have the tools to do so yourself you will have to find someone who can do the routing and the install..be prepared to spend as much or more to get this done as the unit cost to begin with...good luck on the project and keep us posted on the results....

This is one of the more difficult ones to install, due to the big rout necessary on the back. You will be taking a serious chunk out of the back, make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. This will be very hard to reverse.

I just sent the guitar body & bender..........
to Brian Friend in Southern California and picked it up when I was out there earlier this month. I was very happy at the quality installation performed by him. It looks and works just like it was done at the factory, everything was installed perfectly and in a very professional manner. If you contact Brian I'm sure he'd do it for you at a reasonable cost, he's the DUDE!!! JH in Va.
