Bending
Please let me know about anything you might have with good bender licks, etc. I have been trying to learn off of the Byrds Live at the Fillmore CD, Untitled, Ballad of Easy Rider, etc. Also, the Heart Like a Wheel album by Linda Ronstadt has some great bending. Check out the Clarence White Forum for some tab (clarencewhiteforum.com) and send me an email (crlong @ email.unc.edu).

b-bender videos
You can get 2 videos from Texas music and video by Dan Schafer. B-bender and g-bender stuff. Their phone number is 1-800-874-8384. Also 806-894-5211. Larry @ Music one in Kalispell, MT also has some videos. Their number is 406-752-1215. Listen to Marty Stuart and of course Brad Paisley for g-bender licks.

Use it in chords and runs
I´ve never seen a single instructional video. I use the b- bender all the time. Think in chords positions, and use it to bend up to the note you would have fretted.
Ex 1: Playing in the chord of d you can go from a D to a D7 and back by fretting a d7 in 1 st position and bend the b string up one whole step with the b-bender and make it a D. Transfer this to all the other ´keys up the neck Do the same in D where you take it up in fifth fret barre chord, but let the b string be fretted at the 5 th fret and bend it up to the chord. try it also with the D7 in the same position. Also try it with the pentatonic major and minor scales positions....then it´s a start. Also for some specific b-bender tabs: try www.tallstrom.com Have fun Baard |

Hey BENDERS!!!
Wondering how many Benders there were floatin around on the TPDRI!
(Anybody for a Benders sub-club???) It's a little comforting to hear other folks having trouble with these bender licks. I always wanted that steel guitar whine and went out a got a bender to do it...boy was I in for suprise!!! This thing's much harder to master than a banjo...I'm headed back to my lap steel! Baard, that was some good advise - I'll be playing around with that tonight. Shuggie, I already ripped that one from Will after slowing down a Hellecaster video boot from Germany...nice lick and the first I could readily pull-off. Thanks to both of you guys for the tips! I'm all for more suggestions and tab links - I really want to figure this thang out! This is why I love the TDPRI!

No lessons, but there's some mp3's from a couple years ago on a site I never seem to update. Some of you guys may have already heard 'em - it was a Christian country-rock CD project done in one take with no clam-fixing, so it's a very, very loose. The vocals I am NOT responsible for.
Bender tunes are: God Bless the Baby - overly sweet song and I was just screwing around to keep the drummer and bass player from being bored - the guy liked the scratch track and kept it. Open the Eyes of my Heart Lord - A little more prepared, with a Leslie 16 in there somewhere in stereo. Broad Daylight - total silliness. I wanted a Sneaky Pete style steel sound...slightly off-intonation, fuzzed out and goofy. Well - I got the *goofy* part right, sorta. If you can't get on the site it's because the bandwidth filled up - try another day. Happy to answer any questions...feel free to D/L and send 'em anywhere you want (including the trash...) http://www.angelfire.com/music4/silverface/

Very Cool Jim!
You really invoke the spirit of Clarence White on those leads...
You get really CW-like tone with the Stringpull NW through your Holland amp....
