Hipshot Prices?
Whats a decent price to pay for a hipshot b-bender w/the G palm lever and low E drop. Guitar Parts Resource has them for $189.79 plus shipping. This sounds cheap compared to Hipshot website themselves. Should I go for it or try somewhere else.

sometimes can be snagged off Ebay for $100 to $125 for B,G, and dropE....i got one several years ago for $60 that had B,G, benders and de-tuners for small E and A string also....nothin' wrong with it except the guy selling it didn't know what it was, didn't know what it was for, and had it listed as a Bigsby style tremolo tailpiece...

Yep. I got one used... but, I had to get some parts for it... for 80.00...
But, and this is why I said 'go for it'. When I first saw hipshots in the 80's I thought "cool, I want one but kind of expensive." and never bought one until a few months ago.. I'm so mad at myself, I love this thing... If I could turn back time (Cher reference #1 for me) I'd buy that bender at mccabes in 1983 and I would have 25 years experience playing one... so, my suggestion is jump on it and get started! that is a fair price and you'll love it. |
