new b-bender video, me playing "Truck Stop Girl"
Just put up a video on youtube of me playing Clarence White's solo on last verse and outro on "Truck Stop Girl". All comments and constructive criticism welcome.

Eric,
Nice job! Some stuff that I think will get you some good results: Light from behind the camera toward you not behind you... it makes it really high contrast but darker and murkier toward you and your playing which is not optimal. Maybe a little louder. are you playing through an amp? some good examples are if you go to video.google.com search for jmccoy or fatback he has a low fi but really, really effective way of demoing guitar stuff... your examples get better each time, I'm impressed by your productivity! Keep it up! any chance of some backing tracks to give listeners some context for your playing? That would be good because your playing is good! |

i like your stuff too. i feel with you: playing cosmic-cowboy-hippiestuifff and all. i think getbent is right. you need some better light and louder backingtracks to make your trip even more enjoyable. have you ever tried a looper? thats a lot of fun man.
all the best, eddie |

Very nice, Eric...you have a good grasp of the timing of the licks..Both Box of Rain and truck stop girl have been on my "one of these dayts Im gonna learn" list and you got me going on them.
Its be nice to get sa better view of your left hand, but I suspect easier said than done... Keep them coming! |

I'm Impressed...
Funny, I don't have a B-Bender, never gave 'em any thought, just looked here out of curiousity. And here you are playing leads to songs that I've played--mostly on flattop & vocals--for more than 30 years. I didn't know anybody else even played "Truck Stop Girl", "Willin'", and "Box of Rain". Heck, I never did "Box of Rain" much because most my guitar-player friends have fits enough when I toss out the first two.
And now...that's how they did those leads???? I'm learning a lot in Teledom. Nice playing, thanks. |
