DIY Saddle Bender
Hi there everybody, I've been thinking about making up a bender for my homemade Tele and have decided on doing a Glaser/McVay saddle type bender.
It's kind of hard to get benders here in NZ and I don't really care for the idea of sending my guitar to the US for several weeks if not months to have one installed. Does anyone have any photos of the internals of a Glaser or McVay type arrangement that they would be willing to share on this forum? Regards, Toby. |

Man....I thought you were talking about Brokeback Mountain!
Seriously, have you taken a look at the Higgins Peg Bender? Something like that may be the way to go. Also, do a search ( and you may have already ) here in the bender forum for prior info on various benders. Good luck! |

Re:DIY Saddle Bender
Yeah, I've searched the net and this forum for photos as well as the patents on several benders so I've got a good idea on how things should go together.
I'd just like a few picks of the underside of the bridge showing the connecting rods or cables, not sure if rods are used or cables. The Higgins bender looks great but I really want one of these Glaser style benders. I've been using a hipshot up until now and have enjoyed it but I think it's time to move on. Cheers, Toby. |
