B-Bender on a Les Paul?

I've heard of B-Benders being installed in a Gibson Les Paul but have never seen one. Does anyone have a picture of one they could post? I have one LP which I'd really like to get a bender put in somewhere down the line. What I was wondering about was how they got around the cavity for the toggle switch. It seems like that would be right in the way of the lever.....JH in Va.

No...

Those installations are on Larry Militech's Music-One Workshop website. Most Likely the bender mechanisms are Gene Parsons' creations...

a hipshot b-g bender is BY FAR the easiest, cheapest, least invasive way to go for a Les Paul guitar...can be done in a matter of minutes, no routing, no mutilation and they work GREAT...been using them for years on L.P.'s and other arch tops...i use them on teles, must admit i have some teles that are routed out for other type benders but they don't work one little bit better than the Hipshot...they just cost a LOT more money to get it done..to each his own opinion..that what playing is all about...what works for you....good luck whatever your choice and enjoy bending..george

Is that the toggle switch in the curve?

Is that the toggle switch in the curve of the rod near the front of the guitar? It looks like the pull rod is bent around the switch. Is there a picture of the front of the guitar?............Thanks, JH in Va.

Everyone is forgetting that guy from Led Zeppelin...

Here's Jimmy, looking pretty funky with his benderized Les Paul.

This shot is from the Knebworth concert back in 1990. I remember the day that concert took place because I had a band practice that day and we interrupted our afternoon practice to go see the show on TV. When Plant and Page came on, I was very curious about that strange knob in the middle of nowhere.

I eventually found out that it was a b-bender and have been anxious to get one ever since (done deal now).

You can see Jimmy work out the Les Paul bender in the Knebworth DVD and the No Quarter DVD.

Thought I'd show you my LP with the B-Bender on it. No routing required. Click the picture above.

Weird, until I read this thread title I've never even imagined a bender on any guitar that isn't a tele.

Hey fellas, for historical content, check out Dave Evan's site: http://www.pullstringguitar.com/ the first guitar shown in the photo gallery is a Les Paul. Might have been the first bender routed into a guitar body.

I put an Epiphone E-Z Bender on a Gibson Les Paul, and wound up going with a total of three of 'em on there! That was also a dedicated Open-D guitar, strung with specific gauges and set-up just for that tuning full-time.

(Link to pic)

(Well, it would be a link, except part of the URL is being automatically mis-identified and partially censored with four asterisks...)

contact info, please

Does any one have a phone number for B and W? I really like the looks of this unit and would like to contact them. I have tried the link on their page to no avail.
Thanks!

Has anyone tried/owns one of these. It looks great. I really like the fact that the mechanism is completely hidden, AND the strap button/pull is on the body. I really like info on being an installer.

Hey Freight Twang,

I finally decided on an old Bigsby Palm Pedal for my old Les Paul as I'd been using them for about 35 years. I'm adding a shot of the LP with the Bigsby so you can see what they look like installed.

Also I'm adding a couple of shots of my McEwan bender which is installed on a Les Paul Jr. which I have. They work as good as a P/W and are operated in the same manner by pushing down on the neck, plus they have a spring tension adjustment right on the unit so you can adjust that as well as the "throw" of the bender. Paul McEwan is the guy's name who builds it and he's in Connetticutt. He's on this Forum and I'd highly recommend his bender unit. It makes the guitar a little thicker but It attaches right to the back of the guitar and over the end..........JH in Va.

I just got my tele with a double bender yesterday from Bill Warford of B&W and I highly recommend him. He will also do a Les Paul with no visible routing to the guitar.
