I was given one 15 years ago and the flap that gets screwed down near the strap button, that part was too long for a tele which I thought would be the right guitar for it.
So I finally , last year, mounted it on a hollow body kay(?) and it works but it's really not that usable IMHO. . It's really clumsy and the "pedals" are always in the way. It works and it's well made and it's tunable but it's a real dog.
I'm a carpenter, so I was able to install a Hipshot Parson Green B-Bender in a Squier tele and it wasn't really that hard to do and it works perfectly.

I cant adjust to any palm pedal. The change on the picking hand is awkward. I prefer any hands free unit like the mcvay, parsons, or timara by far over palm pedals.

As far as the one on ebay.........

I submitted a bit of $130 for it and I was the highest bidder. When I signed on the computer this morning I had an ebay notice that I'd been outbid and it was now $132.50... I immediately submitted a bid of $135, hit the submit block and was immediately told that I'd been outbid and it was now $137.50. I did it a couple more times and each time it was "upped" by $2.50 as if something was automatically increasing the bid by that increment each time I'd submit one so I stopped. I'll wait a couple more days and see what's happened, I'd like to have the bender but I'm not going to pay a fortune for one.... They have a "Buy it now" price of $199.50 on it but I'm not paying that much as I never have and never will, except for maybe a gold finished one!.........JH in Va.

Something is increasing the bid, the person who is winning the bid has a higher bid than what you are bidding. So they are automatically winning by default. You'll have to go up to where you are higher than anything they put as their maximum to be the highest bidder again.

But you would still be vulnerable to other bids at that point. Me, if I wanted it bad enough, would just go for the BIN price. This person's highest bid is probably only ten dollars or so less than that anyway.

Hey Larry..........

it's the strangest thing I've ever encountered on Ebay... It's almost like someone has told ebay to automatically increase the bid by $2.50 as when I submitted each bid there just wasn't enough time for someone to come in and outbid me.... I'd just hit the submit block and the notice of the new price was right there.............JH in Va.

Whoevers doing this I would bump him up like $50 in one shot just to call the bluff...then back off and look who gets to pay $197.50...( Hopefully you win this game of chicken)....
Let us know what happens....

J.H.

Someone just has put in a higher maximum bid than you. Each time you put in an incremental bid, it automatically jumps the other persons bid to the next increment....until you hit above his max bid.

....and the 'increment' is set by eBay according to the value of the (current) bid... ...if you were dealing with something under $50, the increment would probably only be 50c or $1 each time...

..their policies on all these things are available on their home page.. welcome to the world of electronica, Jerry..

...oh, and BTW, as soon as someone bids on something, the 'Buy It Now' price is no longer available, anyway....

...and BTBTW, I agree with you that a couple of hundred bucks for these things is a bit much, but that seems to happen these days... ..sigh!

Yes, what these last couple have said. There isn't someone actually placing a higher bid every time you place one, their single maximum bid was just more than all of the bids you placed. If for example the high bidder's maximum bid is 150 (which nobody can see), the current bid may only be 125. If you put in 130, you will get that outbid notice that you are speaking of. You'd have to put in more than 150 to show as the high bidder.

By the same token, you could put in a bid for 500 (I know that's crazy but just as an example) and you'll only pay a few bucks more than the second highest bidder was willing to pay. Hope this helps.

I just went to ebay and...........

the current price was $147.50 so I entered a bid of $150.00 and the very second I hit the submit block the red letters came on and said I'd been outbid and it was now $152.50...... That's more than I want to pay so I'm outa there..........JH in Va.

I've had a couple of items I have bid on lately come back as a "second chance". I don't bother, as I figure the guy selling was trying to bid it up, so he deserves to have to relist, and do it over.

yes some sellers can't be trusted. He may have logged into another account and bid a couple bucks lower than the BIN right after he listed it, ya never know.

Just got an email from ebay that said....

the BPP had been sold. I clicked on there and the palm pedal went for $256.00..... That's quite a bit of cash for one of these I think, well maybe not. I guess if I didn't have so many of 'em I'd probably pay it. I'm still looking for a gold one in the solid body version to put on an old Ibanez Artist guitar...........JH in Va.
