Higgins bender

Just got two and I'm impressed! Put one on my homemade tele with Kahler whammy bar. Now I really have the best of both worlds, whammy and bender. Just got it on the tele last night and played just enough to be sure everything was working right. The other one is for my Martin when I get a round tuit.

This guitar is real light so the weight of the bender on the peghead is something to get used to. It wants to make the neck go down on it's own but it doesn't seem hard to keep up, just something I need to be aware of while playing. Sure is a world of difference compared to the weight of my P/G. Had to loose the Kluson type tuners as the mechanism covers the screw holes on E and G strings with no room for those screw heads. Had a set of mini Grover inline so I put 5 of those on.

First gig with it is tomorrow night. Think I'll cover that cable in black heatshrink tubing so it's less obvious. Looks like it will reflect all the lights as is. This is going to be more fun than squishin' tadpoles!

Definitely was more fun than squishin' tadpoles! Had a problem with it returning sharp after a bend and and had to re-tune a few times. Didn't get a chance to see the guitar again until a gig tonight and had the same problems BUT when I got home, I checked it out and see that I didn't have the socket head screws tightened down enough. Got 'em snug now and should have no problems at all next time. I can't force it not to stay in tune now.

I think I lost the smaller Allen key for adjusting hed retaining screw. Any idea of the size? Can't find it from the manual... under 3 mm, over 2.5 mm, something imperial I guess.

If you remove the noisy stuff inside the piano it makes a great house for a dog.
