Pics of Steve Warnier's Red Tele

I have been lurking here for a long time...not posted in a while. I got to tech a few shows Steve Wariner last year. I took these pics of his Red Glaser Tele. Needless to say I was shocked to be able to play this guitar. Very nice guy as well.

I met him a long, long, long time ago ...at the Buckboard ....and he was just that a super, super nice guy and a heck of a guitar player ...I love to hear him pick ...I am not so up on him doing the George Benson thing ...but hey he can do that and I never will be able to !!!...and he probably dont like the way I play so simply all the time!!! But no he is a super nice guy ...I say him,Leroy Parnell and Marty Stuart are some of the nicest and most approachable country stars !!!....and that is a cherry guitar ...the neck alone is a masterpiece !!!!

Hey Carl..........

Doesn't Steve also have a Glaser Strat with a bender in it as well? It seems like I've seen him playing one. I have a Steve Wariner CD called "No More Mr. Nice Guy" or something like that which is an instrumental offering and pretty d@mn good...........JH in Va.

Yea - he has that Strat. I have not seen it in person or in a long time anywhere. I got to do the Musician Hall of fame show with him in Nashville at the Shermerhorn in Nashville last year. He brought and played a 51 Tele, an old Echoplex and a cherry Fender 64 Deluxe. That's it....oh and a cord. Like he needed anything else haha!

That's a really nice neck on that. I would of never guess that the back of that guitar was worn that much. The front of it always looks so nice and new. He's played the heck out of that thing. That's for sure.

My bands opened for him 3 times "in the day".
He always had an incredible band, and he sang and played brilliantly.
Cool guitar, though I recall he used the Glaser Strat when I saw him.

Steve Warnier's Tele's and Strat

His Strat is a red Glaser with with some major inlay work on the neck, I have met Steve a couple of times at vintage guitar shows he is one of the nicest, least pretentious guys around and a seriously good finger picker, his tribute album to Chet is real treat . Someone mentioned a 51 Tele he had, he mentioned to me at the time a fan had given him a vintage Fender Nocaster recently, who says it doesn't pay to be a nice guy.

The shame is that he can sing and play circles around most of the current
hot country acts but his material not getting played near enough.

I am dreaming of a Brad Paisley,Steve Warnier ,Vince Gill, James Burton, Red Volkhart TeleMasters Road show
3 of these were at James Burton's first Music Festival and they were Great!!!!!!!! Sorry off the subject.

Manship,

I remember playing a B Bender for the first time back at Indiana Music (I think) up in Indy about 20 or 25 years ago. They told me the bender (and maybe the guitar) was made by a guy named Alan (I think??) Manship that lived in Paoli. Must have been your dad?!! Is he still building guitars and benders?

That was when I got the bug for a bender. The music store went out of business, and I wound up sending a Tele down to Joe Glaser for a bender.

What a small world!

Yeah that was probly one of my dad's, he started building guitars in about 1985. Dad now is unable to build them due to a desease that impaired him, Guillane Barre' is what he got. I build them now. Like to know what happened to the one you seen LOL. Thanks for mentioning this, I was a youngan back at that time.
