This a Parsons-White B-Bender?

This Tele is advertised as having a Parsons-White b-bender installed. Is it the real thing?
thanks,

Yeah, seemed like a good buy cause

the price of that bender installed is the price I paid for it with a Tele attached.

So now to learn them bender moves. Got a few videos, see what happens.

Can I change the bridge to a vintage saddle type?

try callahamguitars.com

for vintage style bridge that fits on a modern tele bridge holer pattern.

Does your Bender actually say 'StringBender' on the back plexiglass. It is certainly a Parsons/White STYLE B Bender but it's hard to tell if it's made by Gene Parsons himself. It might a clone (like from http://www.benderguitars.com/) or WD Music. Did you find out who did the original installation?

You can put your vintage bridge on the hard way

Here is how I did it

I put a vintique on my bender

And there was no way in the world to drill through metal of that quality.

I ended up using a small piece of rubber to go over top of the saddle to get to the bender.

Works fine.

People diss Vintique, but the fact that you can't drill through the bridge is a sign of a quality piece of work.

What is "vintique" ?

What is "vintique" ? That a brand name?

What do yall think of the bridge at the bottom of that post? From callahan. I like the fact the edges are not on that bridge. Thinking on using that one.

Yeap

Vintique is a brand.

Callaham is a brand.

Both fine products.

I built my own just because I'm cash poor. I don't plan to resell my unit.

sound different between the two?

Would a player notice a tone/sound difference between the two brands?

If so, how in detail.

Less drilling or installation issues with one?

Does the vintique brand offer one with no sides on the bridge plate? Eliminates the need to drill a hole as well?

I don't think I know anyone who has both to tell ya.

??

Callaham is a direct replacement not drilling....the other two require drilling.

Does the vintique brand offer one with no sides on the bridge plate?

No, it has sides.

No, must drill wholes on Vintique.

Vintique vs Callaham

Business practices of the two companies aside...

Put a Callaham vintage-style bridge on it with the intonated 3-saddle setup. Simply, 1) no drilling required with the Callaham and 2) your tone will improve dramatically.

The Vintique will do the same thing but takes more work to install. No reason to go through the extra effort.

But get that 6-saddle thing off there asap. You'll love the added sustain and roundness of tone.

You got yourself a nice Parsons-White, looks like. come see some of us over at the Clarence White Forum for more bendermania:

Oh - as far as drilling through Vintique stuff...sure it can be done with a good drill press and high-quality bit. But why bother?

Time to make a move

Yeah, I knew the bridge had to go before I even put my hands on the thing. And I have never worked on guitars so the easier the better. So I'm ready to buy this bridge and get 'er going. I'm going to order a 1 ply off white pick guard as well because my pick keeps hitting that 3 ply.

So the "Callaham Tele Bridge Assembly w/ 3 Brass Slant Compensated Saddles for American Standard or American Series Guitars" is the one that will fit my B-Bender?

Do I want Brass or Stainless Steel saddles ?

I think so - check with Callaham to be sure.

It depends. Personally, I much prefer the warmth of brass. Stainless has too much top-end bite for me, and I like a warmer midrange (but with some snarl) on my guitars. I can get that with brass...and the tone control seems to have more range/effect...but with stainless the tone just seems a little one-dimensional to me.

HEY watch out

You may want brass on the E, A, D, G...but in the long haul you will want steel on the B and E. THat bender will eat through brass.

how long?

HOw long are we talking for a b string to eat through the brass? Ball park figure.

I ask cause it's the high E and B that has the most treble bite that I'd like the brass the help on.

Is it too much to get some extra brass saddles to just replace the b/e saddle when necessary?
