Hipshot half-stop device

Does anyone use the half-stop accessory for the Hipshot B-bender? Does it work well, and how does it work?

When you pull the bender you can feel a mechanical click as it runs through the half tone bend. I've had this unit for about 7 years now and the jury is still out! It can all get a bit too complex, just easier to do the half step by ear in my opinion. :)

I've had the hip shot for fifteen years or more. I do not have the half tone but like the UK reply I do it be ear. Also, I priced a palmer for my as g-bender but had sticker shock. Gave up on that one. They wanted more than I paid for the whole thing. I guess that's what you get for getting old. I hope you get old also. D Dennis

Thanks for the info

I have an old Hipshot - I think I've had it for at least 10 years. I never use the drop-D lever. Hipshot says they'll give me a G-lever in trade, only charge is $25 for installing it, and shipping. I thought I might try the half-stop at the same time. Still haven't decided, thogh.

Sadly when i ordered my Hipshot bender here in the uk from hipshot themselves, by phone a few years ago. Once they had my credit card number they added in the package 2 bass guitar detuner keys at the cost of around 150 dollars that i did not order. When the hipshot arrived i had to pay customs and tax on these items and could do nothing about it! Expensive hipshot!

hipshot halfstop device

this is more a detent that you can feel when you get to it and stop there for a half bend, or gp right on past it for a full bend. I haven't used one but it might make the half bends more fluid, as long as it doesn;t bother you when going for the whole step bends. Hipshot stuff usually works like its suppose to so if I ever get another one I would go ahead and get the half stop feature.
