My Old B-Bender, a "new Look"...

My trusty old B-Bender Tele has been a friend for many years. I decided to get her some new "innards" and changed out all the pickups and made a couple of new pickguards. Gone are the old Gibson mini-humbuckers and the S/D Hot Rails in the bridge...... When I was in California in Sept. I went to the Guitar Center in Bakersfield and bought a set of Fender Vintage NoCaster pickups. I put the regular neck pup in the middle and the bridge in it's usual slot. In the neck position I have a GFS Humbucker which is very powerful and sounds great. The three mini toggles are still on/off.

The mini switch between the volume & tone contols used to tap the coils on the Duncan pickup in the bridge slot but it now taps the GFS in the neck position.

The volume control pull switch used to be a phase reversal for the Duncan but it's now for the GFS also.

All in all, I love the classic sounds I can now get from this setup and also a pretty decent Strat sound with the bridge and middle combination. I think it's gonna stay this way forever (I might add a few more decorations later though....).........JH in Va.

That's a hot rod if I've ever seen one! Looks like you've got all bases covered. Very Cool.

If you look closely you'll see there's a guitar under all that!

Kidding aside, I like it. Individualism is where it's at.

Since that last shot.........

I have added the raised Fender amp logo back on the face of the guitar in the same spot.....

John B.....No, I haven't got the amp back yet. The repairs have been made but I dropped off a couple of EV 12" speakers to be put in it. The thing ought to really scream then........JH in Va.

Looks great.........shoulda left the Emmons badge on, though. Emmons pedal steels are the true king of string bending!

Check out the one I just rebuilt.......

Didn't mean to hijack the thread. And yes, I the posted the Emmons on SGF.

Back to reality..........

Jerry - your Tele looks awesome both ways, and I bet it sounds killer too!

Also, unless I'm totally off base here, aside from your bender abilities you're a well respected steel player.

What made the old way look so good was the Clarence White Tee shirt in the background. Ya gotta take a pic of the new version with Clarence in the background too. :)

I think I'll not reattach the Emmons logo as it's

now on the wall of my workshop! I have put the picture of Nudie back on though as I'm still a fan of Clarence's and it's a tribute to him. I'll put a shot of it on here in a little while.........

Quackattack.....I love Emmons steels and have owned them before but none of 'em ever compared to my old '79 BMI S-12 w/ 8 floor pedals and 5 knee levers...........JH in Va.

Here's the latest..........

photo of my favorite bender guitar. I put the Fender amp logo back on but I can't find my "Nudie" picture. Anyone out there have one to spare? Also, I cut out a piece of silver tape to cover the top of one coil on the neck humbucker because it looked like there was no pickup there with the black plastic cover on the pickup!........JH in Va.
