Waylon Album-Honky Tonk Heroes-Black Rose

Does anyone know who is playing the B bender on that track. At least I think it is a bender. It doesn't appear on another tracks on that album.

Great song from a great album!

The devil made me do it the first time....

There's no bender on that song or the LP. What you're hearing is THE man, Ralph Mooney on steel guitar. He's the guy most b-bender players try to copy, I know I do!

Reggie Young didn't play on that record. That's Waylon on guitar. Probably Larry Broom playing too.

I went back and listened to BLACK ROSE...you're right! That is the great Ralph Mooney. Reggie Young is on the record, too.

Personnel include: Waylon Jennings (vocals, guitar); Dave Kirby, Eddie Hinton, Jerry Gropp, Randy Scruggs, Steve Young (guitar); Reggie Young, Billy Sanford, Dale Sellers (electric guitar); Ralph Mooney (steel guitar); Brenton Banks, Stephanie Woolf (violin); Marvin Chantry (viola); Byron Bach (cello); Donnie Brooks (harmonica); David Briggs (piano); Andy McMahon (organ); Henry Strzelecki, Joe Allen, Bee Spears (bass instrument); Richie Albright, Willie Ackerman, Buddy Harman (drums).
