Dan Shaffer Bender Videos

Well, my wife got me these bender tutorials for me last year. This weekend I pulled them out for the first time and went through them. They were really helpful. Dan does not try to inundate you with his material. He describes his bends thoroughly and repeats them several times. One pass through the tapes, and I can say I truly learned a bunch. I will not say that the depth of the material is there, but he truly openned my eyes to the variety of things that can be dones with a bender. The amount of usable material that you can keep in your tool box is solid.

Re: Dan Shaffer Bender Videos

I have to agree. I bought both videos from Dan off of Ebay while I was living in Nashville a few years ago and picked them up at his place. Got to meet him and ended up taking some lessons from him. My only complaint with the videos is I would have preferred tab and showing the lick twice, once slow and once fast. But he goes into this tedious explanation of "this finger on that string at this fret" for every example and it just really frustrated me. But the history of the B bender was good along with him playing a bunch of different bender models to see how each work. All in all, I liked the series.

Re: Dan Shaffer Bender Videos

I just picked up a hipshot b bender and will be trying some bender stuff for the first time. I am considering the Schaeffer video. But I am curious about the Will Wray video as well.

Can anyone compare the two and make a recommendation for a beginning bender like me?

thanks,

jim

The Shaffer Videos would be a great place to start and then move to the Will Ray Videos.

I got mine from a B-bender website. The String Bender Site has them. I think Music One Workshop has them. I'm sure if you could find Dan's Sight it would have them to, or you could by them Directly from Dan on Ebay he put's them up on Ebay alot.

Dan Schafer

I've got Dan's instuctional CD which is great. The guy is a truly amazing musician and his bender playing is fantastic. I also was able to get a CD from him which has a bunch of covers with him singing. I had no idea he was such a great singer. Some guys get all the talent.
