Where to buy a P/W B-bender

If I wish to install one myself, who sells the P/W B-bender?

All I could find online (and searching here) is places that install them, not sell them outright.

I don't know about the P/W bender but..........

you can by a Parsons/Green bender from the HipShot company for under $400 which comes with pretty complete installation instructions. I have a Tele with a P/W and another with a P/G (Hipshot version) and I don't think the P/W is really that superior to a P/G.........JH in Va.

I've seen PW "style" benders (not PG) on ebay from time to time. You can purchase a pre-routed body and build it yourself, or buy the instructions and templates to route your own guitar. I'm sure I've seen a PW style kit in one of the larger luthier catalogs as well. Good luck! Me, I'd rather leave the install to the pros!

+1 I'll leave it to someone who has the templates and some experience. I'd rather not use my personal guitar as a testbed for bender installs.

I did a search and this is what I came up with:

A listing for a Bill Bores P/W kit - $429 special order only. Doubt they have any in stock.

http://classicclones.com/Benders.htm

And this listing on Ebay for $399 (9 available). Also by Bill Bores.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Parsons-type-B-B...3286.m20.l1116

P/Gs are easier to get, cheaper, and somewhat easier to install. Some like em, some don't. Unless you are skilled with a router and can follow instructions, you might think of letting a skilled installer do it for you. Yes, it isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. There are installers on this forum who do excellent work and are significantly less expensive than Bill or Gene. Turn around time is faster too. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Bill Bores

Bill Bores's Bender is flawless. Its the same PW design without Gene Parsons's price tag. You can get his Bender parts from WD, and even pre-routed bodies, however its more cost effective, and zero risk to just have him install it.

My main guitar has one of his PW B benders, and his Saddle G bender. AWESOME

Thanks guys...

The difficulty and challenge of building one just makes want to try it that much more.

I'll be routing my own body from scratch for this one.

Eh, I've been too busy lately to even think about starting this project...too many current projects I need to finish first.

But I do plan on eventually geting to it.
