Bill Bores Update

Hi guys,

I just spoke with Bill tonight, for those of you that know he lives in the Houston, TX. area which was hit hard during Ike. He has not had power in 10 days and looks like another week or so. The good news is he had almost no damage but has no power to machine parts or do benders, but he hopes to be back up to speed quickly, so if you have tried to call or email with no response, he has no power or internet. So hang tight and and keep Bill and his family in your thoughts.

Glad to hear it

My best wishes are with Bill. Glad he made it through in one healthy piece.

Has anyone spoken with Bill lately? I've tried to get in touch with him for over a month (some of that post storm). No e-mail response, answering machine off I hope everything's OK.

There are several e-mail addresses. They can be found at benderguitars.com, steelbenderinnovations.com, and I think, cypressguitars.com.
I've tried them all and have had no response. His phone is not working properly. I tried the operator at my long distance carrier and all they would/could do was confirm that it was not working. They wouldn't report it or tell me how to report it.

Hey guys, had the same problems as well, but I got a hold of Bill on Sat., everything appears to be cool, when the storm hit , they still had sporadic phone and internet service, and he changed providers, and they were not on there game,it took some time to get things right. When CNN leaves, there is still work to do. ha.

Same numbers and email will work, but he was working away in his shop Sat, as I have Two guitars there.

So if you have been trying to get him, try now as he said he is back at it.

Keep the faith

Bill has done excellent work on my two irreplaceable lefty G&L ASAT Classics; one a Parsons install and the second a bridge modification to a Glaser double bender that Joe and John said couldn't be done. Great work and worth the wait.

Bill??

Tried many times to locate Bill in the last year. No luck. I stumbled on his benders at the WD site. I assumed he was out of business and selling to them only???

I sure hope he is not out of business!!! Built one of the best B-Bender's for myself I ever played.

Anyway, I am building another one, that is why I was trying to get in touch. Forrest Lee is going to do the honors on this one. Another P/W style with a Mexican Body and rosewood neck. Also two NOS EMG Tele pickups, prior to the detachable wiring harness.

Should be fun. I will post a link tot he finished guitar. Will be a month at least.

Hey FO,

I talked to Bill last week, he IS still going but seems to be super backed up, I have had a guitar there 6 mo, and he is trying to get caught up. I think the problem is making the parts for the benders( Glaser and PW),as this is his second job, and he hasn't been taking new business til he gets straight, that explains the no response, but he is supposed to be caught up in Jan, you might try, all numbers and emails work, so keep trying, I'm not saying its o.k. to do this but I respect his wishes, and lets face it, where are we going to go,ha.
