It was Chuck Berry, George, much though he might deny it in the lyrics.
I notice Billy Bremner's got a Hipshot on his Strat (you can hear him using it in the verse fills here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sms2u...ature=related). Nice to see him and Dave E together again. In the "Born Fighters" telly programme Dave E battles his P/W bender and - supposedly - said he stopped using one after seeing his twitching movements to activate that bender. He must reckon the Hipshot-shuffle's more dignified than the Parsons-White's necessary movements. Same prog has footage of Albert Lee and his Evans bender recording "Sweet Little Lisa". I'll lend it to you, George, if you remind me: it's very entertaining...Nick L was drinking big-time then(!) |
