Adding a G bender to an existing B bender

I have a Parsons/White B bender on my Fender Tele.
Watched one of my videos where the guy was bending with a
G bender.... very nice!
Has anyone ever added a G bender to their current guitar?
Or am i better off looking to sell and find a Tele that has both?
How much did it cost you to do so?
How long did it take?

I added a Hipshot, configured to bend G and D, to a Tele equipped with a Shelton B-Bender. It works fine. I admit I am still practicing the "automatic" and coordinated body moves without having to think about the effect while playing, when I do coordinated or vice-versa multiple bends.

As I read your post again, I realize you aren't talking about a Hipshot or other solutions, but about the additional Parsons/White-G-Bender. And no, I have no experiences with that one, sorry. Would love to get hold of one, though.

I think a G bender can be added to a parsons white fairly easily...but you might want to master the b bender before increasing the complexity...and if you study the work of benders such as Clarence White, Bob Warford and Bernie Leadon, youll note they did G string bends all over the place with their fingers..Clarence used a light G string..like a .012 to make it easier to bend.

Don, you can do "G string bends all over the place" but they don't sound the same. And there are unlimited things that you cannot do without a bender on the G string. I have a friend, a Nashville picker, who once espoused the same opinion. I asked him, "Steve, can you do this? Or this?" He simply said, "No." I'm not interested in playing a guitar without a G-bender, cuz that's where the coolest steel guitar sounds reside! If I were only allowed 1 bender, I would choose the G-bender. After all, you can play almost everything that you play on strings 1 and 2 with the B-bender, on strings 2 and 3 with the G-bender, by simply playing those strings higher up on the neck. There are great "inside" chord voicings using the G-bender, that are just sooo pedal steel.

After watching the DVD with a G bender,
I think I'm ready to try this out.
What about the Hipshot G bender?
Looks like it would not be as expensive to install.
Stringbenders.com has a high quote for addition of the G bender.
Plus, its strapped on to your belt loop.

i am of the camp that much prefers G bend along with a B bend...i don't have just a B bender setup on any of my bender rigs...and like has already been said, there are some bends that just won't happen by finger bending alone...one of my teles has B, G, and A string benders with a D-tuner on the big E...another has a B, G, and a half-step drop on the little E done via a floor pedal system; it gets the least amount of use, although there are some nifty licks that can be done with that rig that no other rig will do except for an actual pedal steel.....anyhow, with a Hipshot, benders can easily be added to a P/G, P/W, or a Shelton B bender; i have P/G and Shelton equipped teles and i have added a Hipshot to both...works great....all my other bender rigs except for the floor pedal system are Hipshot,...when i speak of Hipshot benders, i am speaking of the top-mounted units which are just about a fourth of the cost, not the internal installs ....good luck and have fun...
