Parsons White B bender But What Will Fit With It?

Hi
Just to say hello from the u.k, i'm a new member and just got logged in.
A question for you guys, i have a p/w tele b bender installed in my tele. I've been thinking of having a G bender fitted. I noticed some of you guys commented on how the lanyard thing wasn't that much of a success. So is there any other mech that i can fit to my tele to pull the g and i also fancied pulling the top e. I have an hipshot set up on another guitar and figured you couldn't add this to the P/W as the pull hub will get in the way. Any ideas about the Bigsby palm pedals or is that a no go?
Do any of you guys have a Makenzie bender system with 3 floor pedals pulling the top 3 strings?

Had a McKenzie

sold it to a guy in the USA. Worked well, good system, but I prefer the portability etc of the P/W bender.
As to your other question - no ideas, sorry!

I used to own a guitar with a P/W bender, that had previously been fitted with a Bigsby palm pedal as well. By reading the scars on the face of the guitar, you could see where the Bigsby had been installed, and you could see notches in the back of the bridge cut for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string pulling. So, is it possible? Yes. Did it work well? Maybe not, because it had been removed by a previous owner.

altered hipshot

I have heard of folks grinding or milling the baseplate on their hipshot to make room for a B-Bender. You could order a hipshot with the hip bender on the G string, a palm pedal on the high E, and find someone who could grind or mill out the space for the parsons white hub...

Thanks Big Smokey.
I wondered if that could be done, i've got to be honest i don't care for the hip shot thing but looks like its the only way to go. I've got an hipstot on another tele, might switch to this one and grind the base plate away. By the way Smokey nice playing on your tracks .

Welcome, Vikki

Good to have you with us. You'll find this thread/topic has been discussed here previously (with many varied opinions) :?

I had B/G bigsby palm pedals put on in "72 and played "em til 1980. They sounded great and a lotta pickers admired the sounds.

The downside is NO muting is possible--so if you're into hybrid picking and subtle muting, watch out. Even with the new design that let's you flip them out of the way you still cannot begin to access the bridge.

Funny--last year I bought a "72 tele with bigsby palm pedal setup. Thought I would love it for more than nostalgic sentiments. It was awful--couldn't get around on it and the palm pedals totally benched my right hand. Sold it shortly thereafter.

YMMV but test drive first!

Regards,
E

Thanks
Thats what i find with my 72 custom tele with the hipshot, no control. I play using a thumbpick and fingers. May bring it over to the states next year and get someone to install the p/w. g mech. I installed the P/W b bender myself, but theres no G mechs over here(well Chandlers guitars in the u.k had one, when i went to fetch it ,vanished) and i can't seem to purchase one from the us, everyone wants to fit it as well. I have all the P/W installation manuals and routing jig layouts. So has anyone got a Parsons White G bender mech for sale? For a Tele that is! If you have please get in touch!

Jimmy Moon

in Glasgow - I'm sure he can fit a G-bender. He's one of Parsons' approved (sic) installers.
Try a search on "Moon Guitars"...he has a site of some sort.
