Problems with "New Posts" feature using Firefox

I'm experiencing some issues that initially manifested a couple of days ago.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.12, and logged in - when I use the "New Posts" hyperlink, all I get is a refresh of the current page view and a message like this:

"Search: (http://www.tdpri.com/forum/search.php) Showing results 1 to 25 of 48
Search took 0.04 seconds; generated 5 minute(s) ago."

I first thought it was a cache/cookie issue, so I cleared all of my Firefox Private Data and logged back in - (brilliant! it works correctly) - but no joy, as it only works on the first refresh using the "New Posts" link. If I again delete Private Data, it works on the first usage of the link, but not for any subsequent usage of the link. I narrowed it down to just needing to delete the cache portion to make things work.

When browsing the cache using "about:cache", I noticed quite a few items with expiry dates like this:
Last modified: 2008-02-29 10:56:30
Expires: 1969-12-31 19:00:00

I frequent several other forums running vBulletin (Version 3.6.7 and Version 3.6.8), and I don't see this issue on the other forums.

I use Firefox by default, but I do not see this when using "Internet Exploder" - I guess you can tell I try not to do that if at all possible!

Any ideas?

Scott

I use Firefox here at work and at home (3 beta at home) and it works fine in both of mine...

...my Firefox user profile apparently had a corruption - replaced it an all is well!

Mine's slow, too, but so far just on tdpri. I just installed Firefox an hour ago. I'll try some of the suggested remedies.

I have no problems with FireFox on our pages. There have been some server load issues over the past few weeks. My server optimization consultant is on a 3 week vaca. I contacted him about this just as he was leaving. So, I have to wait for his return to look into it.

The server usually runs with a load of 5 or less but we have seen a few crashes with server loads in the 35 range.

I have had to reboot the server from time to time to clear the backlog.

Once my consultant returns from vacation he and I will discuss steps we can take to keep things from getting too slow around here. However, I still think for the most part the TDPRI is very fast. And, it is ranked as "Faster than average" in Alexa and other server utilities.

By the way, it may not seem like it, but those old dates are normal for how the system works. This is how cookies and cache are cleared, by being giving expiry dates of New Years Eve 1969.
