Larry Norman, one of the first Christian Rock artists has passed away. Larry went home Sunday. He had been in failing health for years with severe heart problems.
I saw Larry many many times in concert back in the 70's and he was always a great witness. He will be greatly missed by those of us who were lucky enough to have had him be a part of our lives, be it in person or thru his music.
Go rest high on the mountain Larry!

Johnny:
Thank you for sharing this news. Larry lived a mile from me and had asked me a few years ago if I'd like to record with him. Too busy, I guess. Boy do I regret that now.

He sang it the way he believed it, with integrity, never willing to sell out to the commercial side of CCM. I always respected Larry for that. I'll never forget the last time we had a nice long talk and he introduced his sweet mom to me. A real pleasure.

Since December, I've lost 3 Christian musician friends or acquaintances due to heart attacks:
Roby Duke, Steve LiaBraaten and now Larry...all my age!

I played "The Outlaw" at today's gig. Most people thought is was a nice song, but some were crying. Like me.

Blessings on ya, Bro. Larry!
