how do i put my tele picture into a replyteletard February 22nd, 2008, 08:16 PM i want to put my tele pic in the forum show us a pic of your tele. how do i do this. sorry to be asking dumb questions. jwells393 February 22nd, 2008, 08:53 PM You have a couple of options 1. Upload your pictures to a picture hosting website. The TDPRI has one........see Gallery in the blue bar above. I like Photobucket. With Photobucket, you upload your pictures. Below each uploaded picture thumbnail there will be a IMG line. Left click that line. When you see the yellow "Copied" indicator go back to your post and paste the IMG line..............That's it. 2. Upload the picture directly to your post as an attachment. Click the paper clip icon to the right of the smiley face above the typing area. A "Manage Attachment" page will open. Click browse and find the picture on your computer. Click the upload button. When the upload is complete, go back to your posting page. Click the down arrow to the right of the paper clip icon............. then click on the picture name. The attachment number will show up in your post. Click the submit button and you've added a picture. Look below the picture and highlight and copy the BBCode line. Paste that into your post............. like this.......... give it a try. ...... http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/517/52ri_1.jpg Here's another picture posting option that works for almost any picture found on the Internet. Suppose you're browsing the Internet and find a picture you want to post. You could save it to your computer and go through the upload process but all that may not be necessary. Right click on the picture and from the menu select Properties. From the Properties dialog box copy the address. In your TDPRI post click the image icon above the typing area (the mountain & sun picture). Paste the address in the box that opens. That's it. I'm talking Windows here ............I have no idea if this will work for you Macophiles. TDPRI February 23rd, 2008, 09:28 AM img src="http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/517/52ri_1.jpg" /> When I paste the above in what am I doing wrong? What you are doing wrong is using HTML you can't use HTML in a post. You have to use BBCODE. BBCODE simplifies and replaces HTML. Your HTML image tag in BBCODE would be: http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/517/52ri_1.jpg I had to mangle your HTML image tag above because I have permissions to use HTML in posts and it was the only way to keep your guitar photo from showing up. TDPRI February 23rd, 2008, 09:35 AM Jack, if you want to show any BBCODE in use in a post simply use a noparse and /noparse around the code. Of course you'll have to enclose those in brackets [ ]. Just a hint for you. jwells393 February 23rd, 2008, 11:05 AM Paul ...........I guess you're talking above my pay grade. I don't understand what you're saying. buddywayne February 23rd, 2008, 11:22 AM Paul ...........I guess you're talking above my pay grade. I don't understand what you're saying. I'm don't understand either. TeleBits February 23rd, 2008, 11:28 AM Wow.. the technical side of this forum has convinced me I'll never be a musician .. But it's disconcerting to find that I can't even understand directions on posting pics of my guitars, lol . jwells393 February 23rd, 2008, 12:26 PM Ah ............. now I understand . By putting noparse and /noparse in the brackets ([]) around the BBCode it prevents the picture from posting and shows what you would see before you click the submit button. If I type noparse and /noparse in the brackets they both disappear and show what's typed between them. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v208/jwells393/New%20Album/ChandlerFF640.jpg Thanks Paul ........... this old guy learned something today. buddywayne February 23rd, 2008, 12:36 PM http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/517/52ri_1.jpg Will this work? TDPRI February 23rd, 2008, 05:10 PM Got it Jack... sorry to be so casual with my description. But yes, if you want to show the bbcode tag for instruction purposes and NOT have the software parse the tag -- well you got it. Ok, that's no better. You just have to know what I'm talking about I guess. TDPRI February 23rd, 2008, 05:14 PM Wow.. the technical side of this forum has convinced me I'll never be a musician .. But it's disconcerting to find that I can't even understand directions on posting pics of my guitars, lol . All forums like this require a medium level of computer knowledge from the users. The more advanced functions you wish to use the more knowledge you need to have. There is a testing forum that no one looks at and you can use it to try and try things. Actually, if someone could show you once how to attach a photo it is pretty simple. But for many, the whole process camera>photo editing>terminology and on and on is all so much greek. However, if you read up on it. Test it and in the process learn it then it's a walk in the park. buddywayne February 23rd, 2008, 05:15 PM Thanks for the patience Paul. I am really dense sometimes. |
