Mounting a bridge pickup to the body is starting to sound intriguing. I have a MIM Standard, by the way. I'd like to hear some tips on how to do this as well opinions on how it affects tone.

Can't tell you how it affects tone but G. E. Smith seems to like it. It should be simple enough to do. Remove the pickup. Lay the pickup in the cavity and use an awl or nail pushed through the mounting hole to mark screw hole location in the floor of the cavity. The important part is obtaining the proper size screws that will allow you pickup height adjustment without going through the back of the guitar. I think it was finally determined that the GE Smith Telecaster uses rubber tubing between the pickup and the floor of the pickup cavity.

Jack...you remember well my friend, I think His main reason was for No Feedback @ High Volume...I can't really determine much difference in tone on mine ?

mellecaster,

Can you tell me a little about your grounding? Did you ground the bridge to the eyelet as well?

After the Pics were taken, I just ran a ground wire from the Bridge, to the back of a pot...cause it was gettin a little busy around that eyelet.
