I'm looking at putting a B5 on my tele but heard that some people don't like the idea of drilling holes for the bridge stud. Any idea what bridge would work with a Bigsby?

Any idea what bridge would work with a Bigsby? Just-Jim February 19th, 2008, 04:58 PM I would agree. When I saw the size of the drill bit needed, I was nervous myself. Not to mention I used a dull, old drill bit. It nearly bored the body apart when the drill tried to get away from me. But I took the plunge and did it, and it worked out fine. Mine I believe is actually the B50, but still has those posts you are referring to. I love it!!! jwells393 February 19th, 2008, 06:42 PM Many people install a B-5 Bigsby with a vintage bridge by cutting notches in the back of the bridge plate for the strings to pass through. Thanks.....I just scratched the idea of installing a bigsby on this. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/document?cpd=0OEY&doc_id=99371&base_pid=512574&index=0 neocaster February 19th, 2008, 10:09 PM Here's how Johnny Crash did it. He may be able to post a pic from an angle that shows his notches better. http://www.tdpri.com/telephoto/data/618/medium/bigsbyTeleBody.jpg Tele Fan February 19th, 2008, 11:06 PM I believe Stewmac.com sells a bigsby B-5 and bridge combo. It's either them or Allparts, or WD but I'm pretty sure it's Stewmac. |
