Just picked up Nic Jones' 'Penguin Eggs' the other day. Had 'Little Pot Stove' on a Mixed Tape for years and figured time to finally get the album. All I can say is if anyone out there loves Acoustic Folk of the British/Irish/Scottish variety (think Fairport Convention etc.) and you have not heard this album, get it! The man not only has a great voice but his playing is absolutely stunning.

Great guitarist. I have one of his LPs. I my memory is correct he only did a couple LPs. Apparently, he was in a bad car accident. He is alive but apparently can't play anymore.

AH!!! One of my all time favorites.
Penguin Eggs is, sadly, his only studio album still in print. Check out Ebay for his older titles, but be prepared to pay. $40-$60 or more is not uncommon for a used copy of one of his older LPs.
Two live collections, put together by Nic, are available from him on the net. Hard to get in the US, unfortunately.
Nic's story is tragic. He was returning from a gig in 1982 and collided with a truck filled with bricks. He was in a coma for months. It took years for him to regain any use of his hands and legs. He does play occassionally and appeared onstage at Bishopstock last summer, but he apparently does not feel up to being a professional musician again.
