Tuner query

hey,

i've just recently bought a tele neck (fender - mexican made), and i'm not quite sure what tuners i need that would fit with the mounting holes already drilled. there are two aligned screw holes above each shaft hole, yet alot of tuners i have looked at either have mounting holes at the bottom end of the tuner, or have diagonal mounting holes. would i still be able to use diagonaly mounted tuners? if anyone could suggest anywhere where i could buy the correct tuners it would be much appreciated (i'm in the UK so it might be a bit of a long shot, but i already know of http://www.pincotts.com and http://www.wdmusicproducts.co.uk).

any help is much appreciated.

Edit: found a neck on ebay exactly the same as the one i bought - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2576793249&category=41423, so if anybody could recommend any tuners that would match this neck that'd be great!

Stock Fender replacements will fit...

I'm sure that there are replacements -- other than Genuine Fender -- but I've never seen them for sale.

A regular, Schaller-type tuner will leave the holes exposed; those Fender tuners are a bit more square at the top.

Your best bet would probably be to search on eBay; a lot of people sell those tuners separately when they sell a neck.

Look at the auction that you quoted there. The guy who was selling that neck sells Fender replacement parts out the wazoo. He usually has the proper tuners up for auction. If he doesn't today, check back in a few days. Or e-mail him. That guy has so much Fender stuff flowing out on auctions, I actually made a shortcut to his auction list on my desktop!
