Okay, I admit it, I have major league GAS

Hey all,

I just ordered an Italia Maranello "Z" bass in cream color. The idea of a LP shaped acoustic bass really appeals to me. I don't know why ( major league GAS), except I think the tone of an A/E bass will work in my band, and it is so cool and retro looking. Reminds me of Dano's, Silvertones and all them great, cheesy ,plasticy looking Japanese guitars of the 60's and 70's.

Anybody got any opinions or knowledge of the Italia brand?

I want to put nylon tapewounds on it, so I can get a smoother, thumpier sound out of it, and also to cut down finger and fret noise. Which brands of strings do you like best?

P.S. - been taking a magic pill for my arthritis in my hands, feels 100% better and lets me play long scale again!

Looks mighty fine, you sure can't hide on stage with a bass like that!

Man, that's groovy!

I've looked at their website a few times, and I'm quite interested to read your review when it arrives!

Cheers, Tim

Now I have to add something else to my list. I can't make money fast enough for you guys. You keep putting stuff up that I want and I just have to add it to my list. This is right after the new pine P-body and the new short scale fretless SX.

Hurry up and write a review so I can start figuring out what I'm selling next to pay for it. I thought I was all set and then Tim has to start talking about short scale bass so I go out and buy two. Then Shannon has to show us his build process on a new pine body fretless. Now this...........

Well my GAS is has been remedied for now. They only three colors I was interested in on the Italia bass are all backordered for 45 ? days. Guess I'll just sit tight for now and wait.
