Guitars with "stories."

If this guitar could talk, what a story it would tell. If this were, say, a 57/58 Tele instead of a 1962 Strat, I would actually be interested. The finish doesn't look that much different than a lot of old bluesmen's strats--it's just that the remaining finish is arranged a bit . . . differently.

"*FENDER STRAT, 1962, sunburst, original finish has to be seen-it had feathers glued to it once-now removed, amazing player, new 5-way switch, refretted 2002, new trem arm, extra string tree hole, tone monster and "gig-ready" ,,,,$14,500"

The orignal 'Duck-Plucker" perhaps? Nice quack in the notch positions for all you chicken pickers out there. ....

It may be gig-ready and a nice sounding and playing guitar but for $14000, I'll buy a room full of strats!

Uh huh. Now why would anyone keep a Strat in a hen house - surely they weren't stuck on for decoration? Eggstraordinary...

 That's pretty funky...
Imagine yourself buying a brand new strat, staring at it someday & saying "Hmm... Feathers would look sooooo cool on this... Honey, bring that boa of yours in here and get me some glue !!! " Aahh the 60's...
It looks pretty rad though !

In the mid 60's my dad bought me a guitar from a friend of my brothers. Cost $50.00. A pretty good chunk of change in that day by itself, but especially for my father. We weren't what you could exactly call rich.
So about 2 months after getting it my brother says that I have a very neat guitar and do I know who originally owned it? I say who? It turns out his friend is the son of a Ralph Young of "Sandler and Young".
These two were the most milktoast singers of the day, but still kind of cool to have the guitar.
Anyway, I still have it to this day. It has the pink plush lined case and is still in cherry shape.
