was bucko's thread on Crude yanked by admin? i spent some time getting facts in order and posted a reply (non-political) ... got the page that sez i can't access the page, then saw it had disappeared from the directory.

are non-political energy discussions such a hot-button issue that they're off-limits now? i'm not outraged or anything, just looking for clarity as to what's within the rules.

Yes, sorry. As soon as somebody posted that "the environmentalists were causing the problem"... etc, the thread was pulled.

This subject has come up 4 times and gone to the crapper each of the four times.

Seems people can't discuss this without throwing in the politics and policies that go along with it. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise, but obviously this is a divisive political topic and it seems that here at at least it can't be separated from the scientific discussion of the issue.

The BDC is "off topic" but it's still just a guitar website and so we ride those kind of instantly-political topics pretty hard.

Thanks for understanding.

too bad, because this is one of the looming problems we're facing as a global society. but as you say, rhetoric tries to seize the day and the discussion goes down the tubes. a shame really, but i guess that's the world we live in.

thanks for the explanation, Paul, and i'm as sorry about it as you are.

You are absolutely right. This is one of many very serious and critical problems that we as a people and world face. Discuss them by all means, I really want you to. But there are so many better places for that discussion than a guitar forum.
