I'm a 51 year old that just started playing guitar last year. I purchased a 2006Baja tele a week ago as my first electric guitar to learn on. I really love the guitar, but I'm getting a crackling/popping sound from the pickguard after playing/strumming for a few minutes. The sound is definetly coming from the pickguard, when I take if off and play, the crackiling sound doesn't happen. Anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks

Fast/easy fix: Rub with a fabric softener sheet. It's static elecricity buildup on the surface of the pickguard.

To clear this. It is not a problem of your Baja.
You get this with every guitar with a pickguard, especially during winter
when you have low humidity inside the house.

Welcome aboard. As said above, this is a normal problem with all plastic pickguards, and the favorite tool to solve it is probably in your laundry room.
The Baja is a great choice, which color did you get?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm sure I'll be using this forum a lot, since I'm a relatively new player. I got the blonde maple with the black pick guard.
