In this link I show in pictures and text how to make a neck pocket template. Of course, you'll need a neck. I don't think making a neck pocket template from a printed piece of paper is a very wise idea.

EDIT: Jack's the man. I tried to describe what his 1000-word pictures do much better.
There is another way if you are going to finish and paint the body ... and you will get a neck pocket joint that not only is tight - it doesn't leave space for air or an atom. I've just done it and it works great. Unfortunately my camera's dead, so I couldn't document it.
Note: This is only if you intend to finish the body! Not for clear finishes.
1.) Roughly route-out about 1/8 - 1/4 inch more around the neck pocket than is required. No template needed, but be careful.
2.) Apply and buff off five layers of wax to the heel of the neck (car wax will work, but mold-release wax is optimum) leaving for 20 minutes between coats. Leave for an hour before molding. Put a dab of candle wax in the screw holes on the body and the neck if they are already drilled.
3.) Place neck in correct alignment in massively sloppy neck pocket. Clamp.
4.) Using masking tape, tape up the little gaps each side of the neck pocket flush with the neck so you "dam" the gaps. Make sure you don't push the tape too far in. You need to dam the gap, but it should be a smooth transition to the neck. Use lots of tape.
5.) Mix up 50ml of epoxy (from most hardware shops) resin. Pour into 1/4 inch gap around neck pocket. Keep pouring until the meniscus is above the line but not flowing out.
6.) When epoxy is hard (give it 6 hours or overnight) carefully remove tape and neck.
7.) Sand front of body flat with sanding block. Neck will slide in with 0.00001 inch gap on all sides!
