Another "My New Amp" Thread

Well today I went out once again on an amp quest. I tried the Vox's again the Dr.Z's, the Venus 3 and an Orange TT. Originally, I was going in thinking I was buying a TT. But finally ended up buying of all things a Masters TVA30. Its a 30 watt ClassA Hand Wired amp with adjustable dc Bias, 4 EL84 output tubes and 3 12AX7's in the peamp. It also has 2 channels: Clean and High Gain (Drive) with independent control of volume for each.

It has alot of clean headroom and excellent distortion/overdrive quality and provides the type of clean sought after in non-master volume vintage amps.
Its also got a 3 spring reverb that is very solid, an effects loop and great transformers.It weighs 37.5 LBS.I really wanted to like the Dr.Z Carmen Ghia better and played it for at least a solid hour. The TT was out almost immediately as its a one trick pony big time. Then I plugged the New G&L Tele into the TVA30 and geeez, it was sooo nice - just what I was after. So I traded my DRRI for it and the Tele Here they are:By the way the speaker is a Red Dog G12-80 made exclusively for Masterworks TVA30 Amps.Almost forgot to add it has a footswitch. Which is another reason I chose it over the AC15.

Well got to say from reading the ad THEY LIKE IT. LOL

Yeah they do - but I gotta say, everything they say is exactly true.
All I can say is open your minds and if you can find one to plug into giver er a try. Sure glad I did and trust me the amp wasn't anywhere near my radar screen and I chose it over some well known and loved amps - yes, even Dr. Z!
I know there are a lot of Z lovers on this site. I liked the Z Ghia just dandy too.

In fact it's (the Z) prolly the way I wouldve gone had I not run into this damn thang. Of course its all so darn subjective and this amp just gave my ears what they longed for. I do hope a few other folk get a chance to try her though. If nothing else just to satisfy my curiosity in whether its just my taste or others will think the same. Its kind of cool too cuz its a pretty unique voice and I'm the only one I know with one. Resale may suck for now but don't care. I would say this amp is closer to a Marshall sound than a Vox sound. Gorgeous clean and certainly won't need any tube drivers or distortion pedals anymore.

Glad you like it and I am not trying to rain on your parade as long as you like it and it is a nice amp thats all that counts. I said that as just reading the ad was a turn off to me as it was a hypey ad and that like some one else said in your other post another Class A amp that is not ect. Bottom line is it does not matter what we think as long as you like it and the sound then thats all that matters. Good luck with your new purchase.

Thanks for clarifying. Yeah I like it alot. Heckuva lot of clean headroom that for sure. Loves the tele. By the way the G&L ASAT Tribute is awesome.
Love the neck its real slick with no sticky finish no matter how long I play. The Fender 50'sCP strat I have - I love too, but I have too lube it alot.
