Hi all,
I'm writing a short story set in psychedelic London 1968 for an anthology of rock and roll/sci fi stories. Even though the sci fi element in my story is a pedal that teleports audiences members to another dimension (zap!), I am trying to keep the rest of the gear info (and some character actions) historically accurate.
What kind of pedals existed in spring of 68? I know echo units, wah pedals, fuzzboxes... but what about flangers? choruses? phasers? Were these 69 or 70?
Any help would be appreciated.

I have Vox Repeat Percussion. I'll open it up and see if I can find a date somewhere inside it.
What year did Itchycoo Park by the Small Faces come out? That had flange in it, but from the story I heard years ago, it was done by manually manipulating the tape reels.
Univibe perhaps? Have you Googled Dallas-Arbiter and Roger Mayer yet? May be some history there.

I found this site: http://forum.thestompbox.net/showthread.php?t=5530.
This says it's "Part 2". Maybe you can find Part 1 as well.

Here's what I can remember from that time.
Fuzz Face, Gibson Maestro Fuzz Tone, Univox Super Fuzz, Vox Tone Bender, Sola Sound Tone Bender, Allied Radio and Heathkit had fuzz boxes, Jorden BossTone, Mosrite Fuzzrite, Ampeg Scrambler, Fender Blender (might have been '69 or '70)
There was the Univibe, but really no stopebox flanger, chorus, phasers yet, at least not in widespread distribution. Flanging was done with tapes in the studio.
There were tape delays, Echoplexes and some German ones I can't think of the name of.
There were also treble/bass boosters from Jorden & Vox and the Dallas Rangemaster of course.
Hope this helps. I like your story line. I'd like to read it when it's done.

I can't help with the history, but I want one of those teleporting pedals...Are they true-bypass?
