This was a down 'n dirty one-take video.. I'd have liked to do it again, but time constraints didn't allow it. This is the walnut hollowbody I built.. I wish my playing was a little cleaner..

My guitar taught me almost the exact same thing for my 2nd or 3rd song! 1 suggestion on a chord substitution that sounds really cool... in the end of the verse part, you go back to this chord, and add something else:

0|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
||-0-|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
||--|-0-|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
||---|---|-0-|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
||---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
||---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

I don't have my guitar with me, but you could also do the following variations at that point...

-5-------5-------
-5-------5-------
-5-------7-------
-7-------8-------
-8-------5-------
-5-------5-------

-5-------7-------
-5-------7-------
-5-------7-------
-7-------9-------
-8-------10-----
-5-------7------

the guitar sounds nice! mmm hollow guitars.

I guess I did two videos.. Today has been a whirlwind for me. Sheesh. Losin' my marbles..

Playing still isn't what it should be, but it's getting a little better..

Thanks for the tip, aznrambo! I'll try it out when I can. :grin:

Hey Rich-How was the wedding? Did your daughter tie the knot yet, and if she did, did you get the stones to do the song?
Oh, and nice work on the vids. I play an Am7 to a Db9 to a Gm7 to a Cb9.
But I like your changes as well.

The wedding is coming up this Saturday. The "Daddy's Little Girl" recording will go through the big system while I dance with her.

Those sound like nice descending changes. I use them sometimes, and like the progression. Many of the things I play have their foundations in interesting bass lines like that one. Thanks for the tip!

Here's one more clip, explaining a little about the walnut hollowbody

I had to listen. Astrud Gilberto doing that number with, if I remember right, Stan Getz, was one powerful influence on me as an early adolescent. I loved her, loved the sound, was blown away by it then. Bought that album on CD a few years back, still taken by it today, many decades later.

Nice playing. I don't finger pick much but think I gotta look up that one. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks,
Not Rich, but I was there. ;)

That's a 1974 Fender Pro Reverb with Jensen Neo 12" speakers. Straight in to the second channel with a bit of reverb.

The other amps in the picture are an SWR California Blonde and a Dr Z 6545.
