boneyguy December 27th, 2007, 04:02 PM Are we being subjected to a clandestine 'social experiment' in which the arbiters of good protocol are sitting back watching to see if we all devolve into Lord of the Flies chaos?
There have been at least 2 threads currently running that in my estimation would typically motivate input from one of the several moderators as that often has a way sorting things out very quickly.
I ain't looking to stir up a bees nest here just for the sake of causing trouble and I do mean that sincerely. I also believe that most of us are quite capable of remaining civil and following protocol without intervention.
Just curious.
ibobunot December 27th, 2007, 05:57 PM Holidays, busy with family I would think....
J-man December 27th, 2007, 06:23 PM Sorry about this guys, Joe and I have been following one of the threads in question. I was hoping Paul would be around to have the final say, but it seems he's taking some well deserved time away from the forum, so I banished the thread unto the nethers yonder.
Happy holidays.
boneyguy December 27th, 2007, 06:43 PM No worries. Everybody deserves some time off.
TDPRI December 28th, 2007, 08:45 AM I'm here, but can't read every thread. I see some of the problem threads and I don't see others. That's why there are multiple mods. If you see a problem thread you can report it. That way I will see it for sure.
I may not always agree with the reporter that the thread is really a problem, but it will always get my attention.
I've seen the one thread you are talking about -- it's been removed -- but I haven't seen the other one. I have no idea what thread you're talking about.

That's the way he wants it bahahahaha.

Maybe you know something I don't?

It rhymes with orange.
Hey I'm not trying to stir up a bee's nest here. By now the Moderators have looked at the other thread I was talking aout and if they think everything is cool then everything is cool.
I wasn't looking to get anyone in trouble or get a thread deleted. I just thought that maybe a brief word from one of the Mods would set things back on track. S'all

No, just making a joke. Apparently, I failed.
Easydog December 29th, 2007, 01:52 PM So what is the process for reporting a "problem" thread anonymously. (i.e. saw a thread where a new member advertising/selling items not in classifieds but in forum & I wasn't sure what to do, PM a moderator?). Next day it was gone. Thank you moderators!
This is the only forum I belong to for that reason. No garbage, no hate/bashing threads etc. Just good DISCUSSION.

Tim Armstrong December 29th, 2007, 02:05 PM So what is the process for reporting a "problem" thread anonymously.
Assuming that you meant that as a question, if you look over to the left, under my name, you'll see a little green circle that tells you if I'm logged in right now, and next to it you'll see a little triangle with an exclamation point that is the "Report Post" button.
Cheers, Tim

Good. Whew!! I thought you were but I wasn't sure. Sometimes my paranoia kicks in without my permission. .

Thanks Tim. You've answered my question as well. I was uncertain whether I had made a bad decision posting in this way. Although I wasn't really reporting a specific thread to the Mods using the method you described may have been a better way to do it.
Easydog December 29th, 2007, 05:48 PM Thanks Tim,
I DID mean it as a question. I am fairly new to the forum an had concern the other night when I saw a certain thread that made say "hmmmm, this isnt really tdpri material", "I thought we didnt do that here". Next day the thread was gone. I am grateful for the good moderation.
Thanks for the help. didnt know the circle/triangle deal... should I have read about that somewhere? I appreciate. -Easy

Wow, I was really tempted to report Tim's post! I wonder if anyone else felt the same way.
My understanding is that feature is there to report a particular post, and not a whole thread, is that right? Then again, if the whole thread is wrong, then the first post could be the one that is reported.
I only reported one post, that I remember. Some Internet Tough Guy-type of talk was going on, and physical violence was even threatened. That was some months ago. I am glad that this stuff gets deleted and everyone can move on. This forum is run very well.

I think Tim should just be banned. Period. I find him aggressive and he never has anything positive to say. Always trying to stir up trouble. You know the type.
garytelecastor December 31st, 2007, 10:02 PM I get so disgusted by my threads, I turn myself in all the time and nothing is ever done. I have half a mind to turn myself in on this one. Just who the heck do I think I am? Where do I get off?
All those without dissociative disorder raise your hands, uh...not so fast there GT.
